Handicap times

Post by Simon Dighton » 23 Jun 2013 17:25

Unfortunately I will be in London in the evening so I have attached the handicap times for Wednesday. The handicaps are pretty self explanatory with the provison that if you have a standard time for the course as it is your first club 20 then your final time cannot be less than 47 minutes. The standard handicaps are 8 mins 30 seconds for adults, 10 minutes for juniors and 12 minutes 30 seconds for ladies. By way of example if this is your first ride and you record 50 minutes as a senior male rider than your handicap time will be 47 minutes not 41 mins 30 seconds. Over 60's may take 1% off their course time and then deduct the handicap.

Well if I had managed that time last year I'd have been very proud of it

Amendment to handicap (Richard L)

Post by Simon Dighton » 24 Jun 2013 22:09

Apologies Richard 's handicap should be

55.3 mins 8.3 Min time restricted to 47 minutes

NB .3 means 30 seconds etc in all the above tables not .3 of a minute (ie 18 seconds)

Simon
Is the handicap calculated on the fastest time over the last 3 years?

Is anyone opening a book on this? I'll have a tenner on Steve Morton, or if he doesn't ride then Laurence  Of course if Norman Adams can find his way to the start then that's another matter.

I'm looking to take part tonight - weather looking great! Hopefully there will be a good turnout.

I haven't worked out all handicap times yet but I can confirm that Steve Morton has won the handicap 20 with a handicap time of 42.03 beating Laurence 43.14 and Martin 43.58 i will do the rest in the morning. Too late now spent too long in the pub.

I will also post all the finishing times too

Phil Richards appears on the list of handicap times twice: once with his time from the Country 20 this year and once with a standard 8.30 handicap.

Looks like everyone enjoyed themselves, and glad I gave everyone a laugh about my great navigation skills. Annoyed with myself more than anything, legs felt good and wanted a base time!

Looking at my ride I was off track after about a mile or so, had a nice ride though.

I will be uploading all the courses to my garmin so they are there.

Well done to all on their times
