Thanks Chris, and well done Steve. Paul called it well with his betting tips!

By the way, I think Phil Richards's time needs adjusting because he rode a PB but isn't under 47 minutes. He seems to have two handicap times listed for the course - see comments here.

Well spotted, Laurence. I'll take any additional seconds with gratitude, but it doesn't get me anywhere near the podium.

Well done to Steve, Laurence and Martin in particular (as well as Chris for being the fastest on the night of course)

Andy, you're getting a reputation for 'loose' route finding, did you get a box set of the US tv series 'Lost' for Christmas?

Blimey 3rd fastest time.....and according to Dave Hughes I was coasting. Look forward to the next one when I can get handicap below 47!

Well done everyone, especially Steve and Chris.

Congratulations to all three winners.

Three? Yes: Steve, Chris and Paul Deane (whom I presume made a killing with a tenner on Steve plus an each way side bet on Laurence).

Very funny Phil, I think i will just get a map and shove it on my handlebars

Richard has kindly offered to take me to future courses and I will be uploading all the routes this weekend.

I think ill even try and ride some of the more local ones!

Im more disapointed about not getting a base time as want to have a good shot at the championships next year, although Laurence informed me the course is riden early in the year so I can get a time.

See you sunday, where hopefully I wont get lost!

Well done Steve and Laurence. And Chris for the fastest time. It was a really good evening so thanks to Chris and Brian for organising the event and to Alan and Eric for timekeeping also Debbie and Ann for helping at the finish.

Getting lost on this course seems to be a regular occurrence and riders should really try and go round the course either on their bikes or in a car before racing on it for the first time.

Also if you do go off course you should try and get a message to the timekeepers to let them know. Last night they waited over twenty minutes for the last rider - who didn't arrive.

Hi Dave

I must apologise as it was a last minute decision to ride the course and I was not prepared at all. I will be riding all other courses in future, and uploading them to my garmin.

In my defence I did try to call the only number I had for someone who may have been able to pass on a message, then I rode to tell them as didnt want them waiting too long but they had gone by the time I had got there.

It was a complete disaster for me all round and please pass on my apologies to those involved.

Andy (and others): you don't need to ride the courses in order to get them on your GPS - you can download them via the club's website. I'd suggest 1. download, 2. familiarisation ride following GPS, 3. race from memory (so you won't have to keep looking at the GPS).

Andy thanks for replying to this. Most of the courses are much easier to find your way round, but the K32/20 is notorious for people going off-course.

On Wednesday there were also a couple of riders over-shot the bend after Little Crowle and one of them ended up in the ditch.

We were discussing all of this last night and it was suggested that next year, before the TT season, we should have a clubrun which follows the TT circuit at some stage so that riders can familiarise themselves with the course.

Anyway the next club TT on 10th of July is a straight out and back circuit so you can't possibly get lost - I hope to see you then

George, I have already downloaded them, just mean I will ride them to get a feel for the course!

That would be a great idea, especially any that may be quite tricky. Hopefully even I cant get lost on that one, although given my track record nothing is out of the question!
