Hill Climb Championships 15 Sept

Post by David Cole » 11 Sep 2013 21:11

Sun 15 Sep 10:00, Hill Climb (Club Champsionship), KH12

Why not come along and see how well you do at the Beacon RCC Hill Climb Championship. If you are going to ride you need to be at the bottom of the hill at 9.30 to sign on (entry fee £3)

OR Just come along as a spectator and cheer on the competitors.

Afterwards we normally make our way to Waseley Hills Cafe for a bacon sandwich and a cup of tea.

Dave

KH/12

Start between Belbroughton and Romsley on lane adjacent to Great Farley Wood, at entrance to bridge at Sling Common. Ride up hill to Finish at road sign near to caravan park approaching road junction by Romsley water tower.

You could really spice it up a bit by setting the riders off in pairs. How about:

Dighton v. Dighton
McGowan v. MacKintosh
Leaper v. Gardner
Morton v. Botfield

Well, why not? It's not as if drafting is going to be an issue. Although fighting for the best line could be interesting.

Out of the names above, I bet 10p on Martin McGowan.

I'll see that, and raise you a slice of Evesham pudding.

Err, on Gary winning.

YOU HAVE FAILED ME GARY.

Despite winning overall... (well done!)

Oh well, don't think I could eat an entire slice of that pudding anyway! I shall pay my debt whenever your upcoming sproglodite allows you to escape on a Sunday and we're in Evesham. :)

After witnessing the appalling state of this road during our Hill Climb Trial, I contacted Worcestershire County Council. Following an inspection of the carriageway, they informed me that emergency repairs will be undertaken in the first instance. Their inspection has also resulted in a decision to resurface the affected sections.

So, hopefully it will be in better condition for September 2014.
