Thanks to all who helped with today's TT. Some cracking times in perfect conditions.
So, how many seconds do we think the new tarmac is worth?

Fantastic performance by Richard, and lots of other very impressive times. What about Roger Thorpe, for example? Great to see such a big turnout.

Thanks to everybody who helped out and cheered :D

This was the first time I'd done the hillclimb. My first ever Beacon ride was to watch this back in 2007(?) so I'm well pleased that I've finally managed to ride it.

One question though - when do you finally stop coughing?

Was much better watching people in pain than partaking myself!

Few pics, I do have a few hundred more but theres only so much that you can use of people in lycra!

Handicap results

So here are the scores from the hill climb. With the two main protagonists wisely sitting out the field was wide open and a first since I have been handicapping - a time that is quicker than the base time! Courtesy of Richard Bussell with a staggeringly quick 2-54. Under the rules potentially I should take to the base time of 3-00 as restricted but that can't be right...

Lots of good times with John and Clare being restricted giving Mark the handicap honours on the day. Phil and Richard L I have down as ther first TT this year so not in the handicap results but times move onto the records for future years.

A remarkable ride by the winner. The previous record holder (Colin Purdy 3-6.8) went on that year to 4th place in the Nat Champs H/C despite forgetting to tighten his chainring bolts after changing chainrings at the HQ and finishing with bolts catching on the chainstays and probably losing the 2 seconds he missed a medal by.Richard should ensure he has an open H/C result to qualify for the National (last Sunday in October, just north of Sheffield).
AIM HIGH!
