Almost a new Vet 10 record

Have to say something as a cathartic remedy. Raced a 10 near Ludlow yesterday and after 9 miles looking really really good. Go round penultimate corner with about 1 mile to go to find traffic stacked up behind my 8 (eight!) minute man. Had to sit up, cut down inside, move round to outside, brake, duck back in again repeat to go round a few more before finally getting past all the traffic (on an A road!) and then sprint for the last part of the race to miss record by 3 seconds coming in at 21-55. Will have another go!
Best

I keep saying this but what a ride again Simon.
We do need to have a forum for getting this news around without you having to broadcast it yourself.

Also if we knew where each of us were racing, it would be nice to either join up as Beacon team, if people are racing fit, or cheer people on.
I remember when club members used ride out to watch people race and then ride back home after.
I think they were called club runs.

Much respect.

Simon, you don't seem to have quite got the hang of this getting old lark. (Nor does that bloody Hughes bloke.)

If you can get so close to the record on a windy day with a significant hold-up, your frustration is sure to be short-lived.

I agree George. Grow old gracefully you two.
The way your going I might have to come out of retirement in a couple of years.
Sorry But I'll kept preying for headwinds and hold ups
as the record holder.
Simon. Were you over Halesowen way Sunday morning as had a Beacon rider pass me on a TT bike up the duel carriageway thought it may have been you :?:

Sorry, Col, but you're actually the former record-holder. I think you missed this one: http://www.beaconrcc.org.uk/message_boa ... php?t=7825

Better dust that disc off for 2017, eh?

Hi Colin,

That was me the other Sunday morning - brain not quite in gear when I saw you and only afterwards thought was that Colin (suddenly thought I recognise that bandana), problem with having the head down in last training session of the summer.

Best, hope all good

On the website, John:-

There is lots of stuff on the website, which I fear many club members are unaware of. Always worth a browse.
