I am assuming that the replacement events are NOT counting towards the handicap but would be good to get confirmation so everyone knows before entry date.

Results for Beacon riders in today's TT on K33/25S course

John Hunt 54:36
Dave Hughes 57:51
Martin McGowan 59:05
Steve Croggon 59:40
James Tate 1:01:04
George Barker 1:02:51
Ian Taylor 1:05:39
Keith Adcock 1:07:22

Well done to John for adding Club Champion for 25 mile TT to his haul of trophies. Also huge well done to Dave Hughes who says he's not been doing any training for last few weeks, you'll have to stop racing Dave as you're putting the rest of us to shame.

Seconded. John has barely begun to discover what he's capable of yet. If he focused on testing and targeted the fast courses, I'm sure that he could put all our club records on a very high shelf. As for Mr Hughes... I expected you to beat me, Dave, but 5 minutes is taking the p!ss. Grow old gracefully, man.

Ian: I owe you an apology for failing to acknowledge you on the course. With you starting quite a way behind me, the possibility of seeing you on the road never entered my head before the event. However, with the two 'circuits' of the northern leg, of course everyone gets mixed together. I saw a rider and thought, "That looks like Ian's pedal action... but surely it can't be him?" I couldn't remember your number, so that was no help to me, and when we were alongside each other I glanced over and saw only a visored face and still wasn't absolutely sure, so I hesitated and then the moment was gone. Which is ridiculous, because I always say something to people I don't know, so not acknowledging you because I wasn't certain it was you made no sense at all.

With ref to John and the prev comment re "I might not get in", well you bloody well will from now on. Some talent boy. AND you bagged that disc wheel from ebay!
Re me not training, that is not quite true but have done only a few Sat rides and every Thur with the 'ol uns' from Tardebigge. I am as surprised as everyone else at my time. My first ever sub hour ride. Bring on the Pyrenees for the next 3 weeks!.

No apology necessary George - largely because I'm not convinced it was me! But if it was me, still no need to apologise, it's more than enough to concentrate on the road, cadence, cramp and everything else that goes with a TT without having to even grunt at anyone else. To be fair, there were plenty of riders who did pass me today but I don't remember seeing you and I can also say I definitely wasn't wearing a visor.

Also want to add my congrats all participants today but particularly to John and Dave for outstanding times, well done both.

Ian

Some amazing times - congrats to all. 4 under the hour is great going, a super quickie from John and Dave smashed the hour as well. More to come next year as well
