Where is it listed as 16th April? Is something somewhere on our web site incorrect? I didn't think we'd publicised the closing date yet.

When you click 'gaining an entry' on this page http://www.beaconrcc.org.uk/open_races/lmtt/entry.html

Thanks Tim, that was from 2013, I've removed year specific stuff from that page.

My training in the early part of this season was focussed on my first participation in this event. Early club TTs indicated I was going well.

Unfortunately injury woes and imminent surgery have put paid to competing this year. I could not see anything in terms of protocol about declaring myself DNS on the CTT website but wondered about doing so more as a courtesy. Should I contact John? If anyone could let me know what I need to do I'd appreciate it.

Andy, was only updated on ctt website yesterday and I can only see my category so sure will all go on our website in due course and riders will be posted event guide. Eleven male Beacon riders in seniors under 40s, should we take bets on Matt Clegg v John Hunt?

Really sorry to hear that Toby hope the op goes OK. I only have seen your riding this year for 20mins on the 7.15 when you left me for dead in the sprint! and super impressive times recently so imagine so frustrating! Think yes just email John, I'm guessing there might be a reserve list so will be useful for him to know not sure policy on refunds.

Thanks Tim. The CTT has Simon Dighton's email address against the event so I have sent him a message.
I am unconcerned about refund. It's only 14 quid from my POV and if it goes to the club it's all good.
The injury is inconveniently timed so I am philosophical rather than angry. I am very fortunate in that I have private medical insurance and a good indoor trainer so I am optimistic about picking up where I left off in a few weeks time.

That's rotten luck Toby. I hope the surgery goes well & you get sorted.

As a result of the same crash it's looking like I won't make it either .I'm not pulling out just yet but it's not looking good at the moment .

Really sorry to hear that Keith. Still two weeks to go so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you mate. Lots of vitamin C and green leafy vegetables if you've still got a lot of bruising. Take care.

I rode the course today have to report 2 lots of road works with temp signal one in Martley next to the Crown and the right turn onto the second part of the course. And the other outside the new houses by the old HQ in Great Whitley neither looked substantial so should be gone by Sunday .fingers crossed

Looks like they're both due to have gone by Sunday (here's hoping)

You don't need to book a holiday to avoid doing it Tim, we all understand :)

Haha! I have done it several times Pete, including the first time in a monsoon when there were 70 people who DNS. I don't fear it, I love it! Should be compulsory for every member within 3 years of joining before being thrown out of the club for me :D

I'm delighted to hear that Dave Hughes and you will be doing it next year. Good on you all ;;-)

Yep, I can do the pushing-off to free Dave up to ride.

You would need a sun dial rather than the new stop watches if I were to do it😨
Dave Hughes has no excuse, about time he went up a few hills😎😁😈
