Anyone interested in having a go at this? Not particularly long or high but steep enough to be fun - should be pretty fast. Its a charity event which is why its so far out of season -figured it would be a good excuse to use the HC bike in anger.
The course is AH/9, up through East Bank road in Winster. Was gonna take the train up to Matlock and ride over.

Re: Matlock CC Winster hillclimb 26th June
Looks like I'm the only Beacon hillclimber off to Winster on Monday - not surprising as its a long way to go for (hopefully) less than 64s of racing!
Start sheet looks interesting - the scratch rider is Mike Morris who placed 18th at the Nationals last year, 5th back is John Johnston who placed 31st. The climb is only 44m tall and just over 400m long, kind of like a mini version of the Rake by the looks of it - sprint from the start and try to hang on. Should be some fast times!

Came 8th with 60.2s. Bizzare climb that was over just as my heart rate got into the swing of things - hard to feel like you didn't work hard enough when the whole race can be done without a real oxygen debt! Really good atmosphere with a whole heap of kids from Matlock CC racing the hill (some of them amazingly quick and I spied a Junior's national camp jersey on one!).
