Club TT Calendar 2013
Possibly one for Brian (?)
Do we have a (provisional) list of club TT events for 2013 yet? I'm particularly interested in what we have around easter (Karen is wanting to book our easter break...)
Thanks
Richard

I've just entered too - hoping for under 2.5 hours as a 1st go depending on training over next 2-3 months (which has started slowly, let's say).Tim wrote:LMTT just entered. Will be delighted with anything under 2hr34 and a slight improvement on last years weather!
Looking forward to the 5 9-milers by Earlswood - I quite like that course Interesting we're doing Saintbury Hill in Broadway this year instead of Cobley Hill? Also interesting that there's a Wednesday afternoon race in May, but given that the Hill Climb champs are showing as a midnight start I'm not sure how accurate the timings are
LMTT
Just entered also. Will have to do some training now I suppose!
NOTE: on the club web-site page for the TT calendar, it lists races for 2013 but has a title date of 2012 at the top.

Hmm, not last year according to the website.Ed Moss wrote:Usually first come first served, then reserve list if there are a few DNS on the day.
Ed I'm surprised at you! How many TTs have you ridden without sussing out how it works? I suppose that when you're 54-minute 25-er, the possibility of getting your entry back isn't something you have to devote too much thought to.Ed Moss wrote:Usually first come first served, then reserve list if there are a few DNS on the day.
No one is given a place until the closing date. When that date arrives, if there are fewer entries than places, there's no problem. If there are more entries than places, places are awarded on the basis of previous performances at the relevant distance (except insofar as special conditions are defined). In the case of the LMTT, which is a non-standard distance, the previous performance rule is tricky to interpret. Ruth's system was to look first at previous performances in the LMTT; basically, if you've ridden before, you're almost certain to get a place. Next, performances in comparable events; next, performances in standard-distance TTs at the nearest comparable distance (50mi); next, performances in any other TTs.
The LMTT doesn't always fill up, so there may not be an issue. But to be on the safe side, if you haven't already ridden a TT, ride one (any one, just a club 10 will do, but ideally an open 25/50/hilly), so that you can put it on your entry form. There is absolutely no advantage in entering early.

Time Trial dates
Will get the dates posted on the main part of the website but for anyone who has not been on the midland time trial site here is the schedule.Timings are 2pm for sat events and 7pm for Wednesdays. In addition the club has the 2 open events, Little Mountain on the 28th April (an absolute gem of a TT) and the Janet Kelly, another great showcase for Beacon, on the 18th May. The Janet Kelly will also be the club 10 mile championship. Other cub championship events are listed below except for the Club 50 where we use the Shirley 50 event on the 9th June. The Little Mountain, Janet Kelly and the Shirley 50 all have to be entereed in advance with closing normally two weeks before the event (but check). Easiset way typically to enter is via the CTT website - http://www.cyclingtimetrials.org.uk/Hom ... fault.aspx
Will now start working on the handicaps with a view to posting well before the first time trial just in case any questions. Will also aim to do a new handicap rule summary at the same time.

Have clarified
The time trials on the 24th and 31st July start at 7.30pm and the club championship on the 17th starts at 7.00pm.
The KH28 is Saintbury Hill as the intention is to find a more challenging hill climb prior to the club champs the following week. The club hill climb championship is the following week at Romsley.
Hope that helps and will change the calendar.
Thanks, Simon
