Here is the GPS file for Sunday's A run to Tenbury Wells. Still recovering from a vile cold and very lethargic. in case I get dropped during the ride then somebody else may need to lead.

I'm allowed out so can lead the B run on Sunday. I'll check and post up a route this evening.

B Run to Evesham
I'll take the B Run to Raphael's in Evesham. I'm shamelessly copying a previous route from last year (copied from John Soady's strava record, thanks).

Ruddy Nora!
1. I am out of condition and/or
2. That was harder than even I anticipated, even after the shortening of the return route.
The ride to Tenbury took us along a roller coaster. We went off-piste diverting onto to some new lanes before Cleobury. The Cleobury to Tenbury road is untried on a club run and was scenic but by no means easy. At Milsom, the offer of 'free cherries' at a roadside table resulted in a much needed halt.
The Cafe was quite simply awful and not consistent with our previous experiences. Having arrived at 11.45, we were not served until 12.45. My beans on toast consisted of the smallest slice of toast imaginable. Next time, we should use an alternative venue. I noticed a new cafe when leaving Tenbury.
We truncated the return route due the late departure. However, nobody escaped Camp Lane! Incidentally, I thought I saw Charlie Skinner driving away from Shelsey Walsh.

B Run
The B run to Evesham was without incident. Route to café was initially a little damp and windy but pace was still faster than expected.
Thanks all for the company.
Rob Wade (leading)
Paul Johnson
Steve Philpott
Tessa Oelofse
Richard Leaper
Alan Weaver (half way)
Jorge Mascaro (1st club run, stayed until after café before taking a quicker route back)

Thanks to everyone who helped manage the large group today.
Possibly a record - 21 on the ride out, plus 2 at the cafe.

Perhaps not in recent years, but it was certainly our venue a few years ago.laurence_cooley wrote:From the description, this isn't the café we've been to on the occasions I've been on the Knighton trip. I think we went to a place on the high street called Tabs.Philip Whiteman wrote:The Riverside Cafe - the greasy spoon used on the Knighton run.
Andy Terry wrote:And hats off to the Carriages Cafe proprietor who single-handedly served drink and food to all of us in pretty good time considering. (He did know we were coming but I underestimated the numbers).
Funnily enough, some of us had a brief discussion on the way back about how remarkably unflustered and calm he remained in the face of 22 hungry cyclists and dealt with the orders pretty well (and opened the gate on the exit for us). Complete contrast to last years experience at Stourport where the proprietor refused to take any more orders at one point despite having 2 additional kitchen staff, I think I know which one I'm more likely to re visit.
Anyway, thanks for choosing a varied route and I now understand the coded message/understement on departure about "keep in sight as the outward route may be difficult to follow!". Great turnout aswell
