Club runs - 12th March
another Sunday morning, another crappy day. We've been a bit unlucky with the weather this year, but being an optimistic soul, we will soon be blessed with sunshine and warmth. A big well done to the 16 people who rode out, especially Nick Shenton, who must have sighed when he turned up in his warm car, hoping to find no one, only to find 6 others wanting to follow the Pied Piper out into the rain. Particular thanks also to Si Turner and James/Helen for the off-road club run (yes, club run points happily awarded).
We have a good few weeks of volunteers now, so come on out, don your best bib and tucker and enjoy....This week's rides are:
A: Wellesbourne - Phil Richards
B: Upton - Paul Johnson
C: Kenilworth - Mike Preece
...and note that the April, May and June club run listing has also been posted...why not look into your souls and put yourself down to lead a ride in the Spring...

Sunday's B run route* will be something like this https://ridewithgps.com/routes/19342784
*Any similarity between the posted route and actual route is purely coincidental

The A-run will be to Wellesbourne using something like this route:

So 42 miles there, just 26 miles back.
The café discussion will be the ethical boundaries presented by the VeloBirmingham cycle event, with agitated speakers representing both sides. We have an angry farmer turning up with a 56-slide presentation who is eager to present his views, opposed by a Taoist Monk who specialises in calming people down. Come along and enjoy the fun...

Woodgate Road just South of Lower Bentley is closed while they rebuild the subsided embankment adjacent to the brook. The actual road closure is 1/2 mile before the cross roads at the top of Ditchford Bank Road. It is NOT passable, trust me!!
I would therefore suggest either going via Upper Bentley, Elcocks Brook and then up to the crossroads at Ditchford Bank Road, or go straight into Feckenham from Elcocks Brook and across the Saltway to Bradley Green.

Thanks Alan.I think we may do the route out via Droitwich and then make it up as we go along on the way back(No change there then)AlanW wrote:NOTEballintrane wrote:Sunday's B run route* will be something like this https://ridewithgps.com/routes/19342784
