Club runs - 18th Feb
A healthy 23 riders out on Sunday, for a pleasant ride in the sun, snow and wind. Heading northwest was particularly pleasant, so I hope you all did your share on the front!
Anyway, after last week's plea, more to the point this week...This Sunday's rides are yet to be filled, but some good Samaritan will hopefully stroll into town, head to the saloon, order a whisky and lead the townsfolk to salvation.
This week's rides are:
A/B: Upton - Neil Lynch
C: Charlecote - Si Walker

Re: Club runs - 18th Feb
Apologies I'm going to have to cancel my B Run as i had forgotten I have a prior engagement this weekend.
Re: Club runs - 18th Feb
the Lord give'th and the Lord take'th away. Thanks anyway, Nick.
We're back to needing three leaders this weekend...and for once, the weather looks quite splendid, so it would be a good week to get your name down...dust off your summer bike, roll up your trouser legs and come along to a good-old fashioned club run.

I'll take a A run to Upton upon Severn, it be around 120k but ( relatively) pan flat. If no B run leader comes forward them happy to make it a slow A/fast B run. Route to follow shortly
Re: Club runs - 18th Feb
I'll take the C ride to Charlecote, it will be 54 miles return from the BH and fairly flat.
Weather is predicted to be cloudy and low temperatures, max 8 deg. Having been out on Friday there was some black ice in shaded places on the lanes.
If you are a new rider, please wear suitable clothing to keep warm and dry and carry appropriate cycles spares and money.

Re: Club runs - 18th Feb
Rather than take the ford at Shell (which will probably be impossible to ride across) you might want to turn right, as you come down from Broughton Green, instead of left. I was down that way on Friday and I can't imagine the ford will be down enough for people to cycle across safely. Walking across the bridge, next to it, will get your shoes covered in mud. Easier option, right then left at T junction towards Himbleton.
Your Average Joe. Fitter than some, not as fit as others.

Thanks for the heads up Wayne

Riders were as follows:

Mark Gardener
Wayne Gibbs
Colin Hall
Ewan Hammett
Dave Little
Mark McConkey
Pete Norman
Dan Robinson
Andy Terry
Si Turner
Will Woodhouse
Apologies for dropping the two Marks after Earlswood.

Wayne's tip about missing the Ford at Shell wasn't needed, as the route wasn't quite as advertised due to garmin failure. Big thanks to Paul for navigation, and to all who took a turn up front on what felt like a pacy run.
