LF easy routes advise around Birmingham

Post by Alberto Recchioni » 05 Jun 2018 10:39

Hi all,
I am LF for advice about some easy routes that me and my GF (who has recently joined this passion with me) around Brum.

I have tried one last Sunday to Cannock (using ridegps website) but I found it too much dangerous because of busy roads (Stratford Rd) and we had to get back using the canals from Walsall.

I am trying to keep it easy and simple to avoid her starting in a bad way.
We planning a holiday bike-trip so this is just to put some miles on the legs before August or so.

In details what I am looking for is Garmin files with:

1) about 30 to 50 km
2) total ascent <800 m
3) a good cafe' stop in the middle
4) pace is now around 17ish km/h

Thanks in advance, I am sure you have plenty of good tips!

All the bestssssssssss

drin drin from my bell!

Hey Alberto,
I presume you have looked at the Intro Rides already? You could take her to the "Lets Ride" on Sunday in Brum City Centre?
https://www.letsride.co.uk/events/birmingham

I noticed that there is also something running from Loaf in Stirchley on Sunday too:

If you are after regular rides, have a look at Cannon Hill Extremis on FB. They have something called the "Base Layer" ride, and leave Cannon Hill Park at 08:30 / 09:00 every Sunday (and do a short route on Tuesday eve as well):

I hope that helps!

+1 for this - My friends at Birmingham Bike Founrdy and Loaf organise this and have had two rides so far, both really successful. Friendly, broad range of abilities and best of all a slap-up breakfast at Loaf in Stirchley before you set off.
