Club runs - 29th July

Post by Andy Terry » 26 Jul 2018 08:32

Well done to all who completed the KK or Clee audaxes on Saturday. There were about 24 riders out last Sunday which is pretty good for an audax weekend, but it's all gone a bit quiet ...

This week's rides are:

A: volunteer needed
B: volunteer needed
C: POSTPONED 100 in whatever it takes - Andy Terry (8.15 start)

Apparently there was some demand for a C-paced 100 miler - so we'll have one on Sunday. Early 8.15 start at the Black Horse.

I'll keep an eye on the forecast - at the moment light rain is predicted. If that gets worse I might decide to postpone the 100 and do something else instead.

Planned stops at Tewkesbury (Wetherspoons, Royal Hop Pole) and Harvington (Ellenden Farm Shop)

See you on Sunday Andy. I really enjoy the "gentle 100"

Forgot to say, passing the 100 mile mark (well almost) will be celebrated at the Coach and Horses, Weatheroak.

I expect the pace will be around 12.5-13.5 mph (7.5-8 hours plus stops). B runners welcome if you fancy a longer, slower one for a change.

I’d be up for a 100 miler but weather is looking awful for Sunday.

Forecast not looking good - chances of going ahead 50/50 at best.

Hi Andy Terry, just an FYI if you do decide to ride the 160km tomorrow, the bit of the route from 35.5-37km through Worcester Hospital is all off road / rough gravel track so you might need to divert along the A4440 from 35.5-40km. Doesn't take much off the route, but might save some **flat**s!

Looking at the latest forecast I'm reluctantly calling off the C run 100 tomorrow. Will do it next week if the weather improves.

Great, can’t make tomorrow (suit shopping for my wedding) but look forward to next week.
