Resignation of the President

Post by David Cole » 08 Oct 2018 17:29

Resignation of the President
This to inform members of my intention to resign as President of the Beacon Roads Cycling Club at the Annual General Meeting December 6th 2018. I have been President since 2007 and I think it’s time for someone else to take over now.

Please give some thought to who you would like to be the new Beacon President and send nominations to:

Gemma Johnson – General Secretary

Nooooooooooo! *...)

That’s such a shame. Thanks for all the hard work you’ve put into making Beacon a great club.

Dave, you've been a brilliant president. I'd be happy to see you continue for a long time to come.

Hi Dave.
I can only echo what everyone else has said. You will/would be sorely missed

I think we ought to start a "I Love Dave" campaign to encourage him to stay as El Pres.

Are you listening to the love, Dave?

Us Beaconites have massive respect for what you do, and you’d be so hard to replace...it would be like trying to follow Sir Alex Ferguson when he retired from Man Utd....in fact, his first announcement to retire was swiftly followed by a change of heart, and he stayed on for quite some time. A lesson?

Stay on Dave! You are the only president I've ever known that the people want to stay on. Pinochet, Blatter, Trump and then there was..... King Cole!

Of course if you do go it will now be really interesting to know which man or woman becomes our own David Moyes 😂

P.S. will get trophies to you soon! Hope my slowness isn't the reason behind the resignation!

As well as echoing what people have said above, I feel that I should also point out for those who might not be aware that for almost a year now, Dave has also been covering the post of club chairperson, because no one came forward to take that role at the last AGM. It would be great to fill the chair position before a new person takes over as president: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=8714.

So sorry you're going Dave. You have done a great job.
It is better to be interesting rather than exact

You've done a marvellous job Dave and helped the club achieve so much. Be very sorry to see you stand down but can understand reasoning.
