Curry Night Friday 11th Jan 2019

Post by carolyn » 11 Dec 2018 12:56

A long overdue Beacon Curry Night gathering. Meeting for a nice pint of ale in the Midland pub in Bearwood @1900 (opposite the COOP) the head down to Zaalsha curry house 22 Abbey Road. It is a bring your own booze place which will help keep the pennies safe.

I will be great to see you all!

Carolyn

PS I will be taking the curry nights on the 'move' so any suggestions of decent places to visit would be appreciated and I can plan other events.

:P

Thanks for organising Carolyn! It will be good to catchup in the New Year and see you back out on the Beacon rides. Are you doing the Christmas Club Run on Sunday 23rd December?

Suggestions for other curry houses:
Harborne - Bangla Lounge / Mela / Cardamom
Balti Triangle - Asha's / Shabab's / Al Frash
China Town - Chung Ying / Malaysian Delight (for something different)
Desi Pub - Talbot Inn (Bearwood / Trigate) / Hen and Chickens (JQ) / The Keg and Grill (back of Mailbox)

Happy to help organise any if the above, or other club socials:-)

Chris

Something this side of town would be preferable to me.

Many thanks for organising

Can you clarify "this side of town" Phil Whiteman? I don't know the curry houses of Drayton.

Found this in Belbroughton, but maybe something in Bromsgrove? We might have to change curry night into "pub night"?

Never been to Five Spice but the reviews look reasonable, so would be eager to try. It certainly has better reviews compared to my usual location.

Many thanks thanks for the location but perhaps I should have said this side of the City Centre.

Flavours would be my choice in Bromsgrove, or Zinga's which is near the station and the Ladybird pub.

The discussion is indeed pretty confusing but I think it's about potential future venues and this one is to Midland & Zaalsha (being Drayton side of city centre after all). Either way, personally, I hope to make it but still not sure I can.
