Club Runs - 28th July
First of all, a huge thanks to Philip Whiteman for a quite wonderful sets of audaxes on Saturday. The Kidderminster Killer is exactly that and is a day of tough ups and downs all day, as is the shorter, but no less fearsome Clee to Heaven Audax. So a big thanks to Phil and all the helpers for making this yet another fun (!) day out in the Shropshire and Welsh hills.
Despite these audaxes, we still managed to get 20+ riders out on clubs runs, with particular kudos to Simon White and Andy Wrightson for riding the Kiddy Killer on Saturday but still there for the C-ride on the Sunday morning. Madmen.
...and what a week of warm weather ahead, and to celebrate, Nick Shenton is offering two options for the A-ride this week, a normal club run up to a café in Brewood in Staffordshire, then you can either peel off for home from there or continue with Nick and others to make it a sweet 200kms ride. Andy Terry is also leading a longer C-ride this week, a 100miles in however long it takes...this is a annual highlight, so go along and ride massive this weekend. Both of these rides set off at 08:15, so meet at 8am.
This week's rides are:
A: Brewood option or longer 200kms option - Nock Shenton (meet at 8am for 08:15 start)
B: Volunteer required
C: 100 miles in however long it takes* - Andy Terry (meet at 8am for 08:15 start)
* estimated 7-7.5 hrs plus stops

Sunday's A Run to Brewood also has the option of continuing on with myself to do a 200km route.
Posted below are the 2 routes:
200km Option - https://ridewithgps.com/routes/28394117
130km Option - https://ridewithgps.com/routes/16856259 (Please Note this GPX File starts & ends at Belbroughton)
The plan for the 200 option is to stop off at Brewood for the usual cafe stop then carry on up to Newport then onto Eccleshall where there will be the opportunity for a Belgian Beer at the Merckx bar. Then onto Stone for another stop if needed, the final stop will be at Penkridge (shop stop) then back via Brewood & Kinver.

Weather looks OK - light rain to start with - but if it's really chucking it down at around 7.30 I won't be leading this ride.Andy Terry wrote: ↑25 Jul 2019 17:04The route for Sunday's C 100 https://ridewithgps.com/routes/30651824

Sorry, folks - I've just had another look at the forecast and it has got worse. It's now showing rain all day and I don't think anyone would enjoy 100 miles in the wet. So unfortunately, for the second year running I'm going to cancel.Andy Terry wrote: ↑25 Jul 2019 17:04The route for Sunday's C 100 https://ridewithgps.com/routes/30651824

The next Sunday I can do is probably 15th September so if anyone wants to pinch my route and do a 100 in August ...

Re: Club Runs - 28th July
Despite looking at the Met Office radar yesterday and seeing no rain to the South of Kinver I decided to press on with the extended A Run this morning.
All was well at the Black Horse with 4 other optomistic souls as we haeded North. Not a drop of rain was felt until leaving Brewood but then a dry spell wasn’t encountered until entering Kinver some 6 hours later.
I don’t use the term biblical lightly but the rain heading from Stone was truly that, unrelenting and heavy.
Thanks to everyone who rode today in challenging conditions.
On today’s very very wet A Run were:-
Nick (Noah) Shenton (Leading)
Jon (Noah) Williams
Phil (Noah) Richards
Lee (Noah) Spiers
Andy (Noah) Wrightson
