CLUB RUNS - 25th August

Post by Philip Whiteman » 19 Aug 2019 17:25

All in all there were 34 participants out on last weekend's club runs. So hopefully there will be plenty of individuals willing to lead on the 25th August.

Club runs meet at 9 for 9.15 unless otherwise stated. Even if no names are listed below, there will always be a club run but it would be helpful for people to put their names forward and lead a ride with a stated destination. If you are unsure of a route or cafe then just ask for help.

A: Market Bosworth 08:15 departure - Paul Johnson
B: Brewood or Albrighton 0815 departure - Sir Nicholas Shenton KBE

In the absence of anyone putting their hands up I'll take a steady B Run this week to either Brewood or Albrighton, I'll make a decision on the morning but it will be approx 70-80 miles BH to BH.

The weather is looking hot and sunny & as it's a Bank Holiday weekend it would be good to get back early so it'll be an 8:15am start from the Black Horse.

At the risk of clogging up the club run options, I'm proposing a B ride to the 'Larch Barn' in Neen Savage, B run pace at the normal departure time...9/9:15

Sorry Nick - off to a BBQ tonight and could be a late one! :)

Route: 61 miles BH to BH, out via Belbroughton, Wolverley, Bewdley & return via Stourport, Hartlebury & Dodford

If anyone prefers a Monday ride (or both days), I'll be heading to my favourite haunt of the Colliers Farm Shop and Café at Clows Top; usual route out via Bewdley and Button Oak amd back via Dunley and Stourport. Happy to make it a club ride, A/B pace (15-16 mph but hilly).

On the B run (2) to the Larch Barn:

Nathan Burton
Cedric Gioan
Matt Hale (L)
Toby Hale
Ewan Ross

Some new roads for me between Cleobury Mortimer and Clows Top (via Bayton)...nice views for much of the route. One incident on the descent from Abberley towards Dunley...Nathan skidded off on a tight bend, but was OK to carry on and (hopefully escaped) with only a few scrapes.

A challenging ride in the heat...thanks all!

Stratford Armouries, Black Hill Garden Center, Wellesbourne Airfield or (maybe, haven't visited for a while) Charlecote Garden Center.

Great route, thanks Matt.
Remarkably I escaped with just a bit of skin loss and not a mark on the bike ( the important bit) !
