Club runs - 13th October
New club run season has started and Dave Cole has already gone into a commanding lead in the Club run competition. With Dave being like a Kenyan long distance runner, he'll be difficult to claw back once he's on the back straight, and the bookies now have him as Evens fav for next year's trophy, but as they say, it's early doors at the moment, so there is still a slight chance someone may be playing the long game...
Just 18 or so riders out at the weekend, with remarkably, no A-run for the first time in living memory...the last time there was no A-run was presumably due to the penny farthing shop being closed due to the war... but I guess Philip Whiteman's Saturday Audax was the real reason, but a big thanks to Phil and all the helpers for putting on a great event, with excellent food at the end for returning cyclists...and it remained dry! The Kiddy Killer audax next July is already live on Audax UK, and the Sunrise/Snowdrop will appear on the Aukweb (Audax UK) site very shortly, so I'll publicise it via sending pigeons, emus and lovelorn kittiwakes to every house in the Midlands when it does.
I'll give the C-run 5 out of 10 on Sunday, we had the venue and the support (Pete Norman) already arranged but no one stepped forward to lead, so Pete did it himself...please give him a week off by personning-up this week, please.
Anyway, this week's rides are:
A: Destination TBC - Neil Lynch
B: Volunteer required
C: Worcester Country Park - https://ridewithgps.com/routes/10976764 - Finbarr Costigan

Re: Club runs - 13th October
C Run leaders. Come on folks. It's not that difficult, just have a look at a map, maybe make a few notes, put them in your back pocket and of you go. If you get a bit lost, so what, someone in the group will help out, and I doubt if anyone would dare to complain. If my mobility scooter was a bit faster then I would come along and lead on that.
There is not a hill that is to steep to walk up.

Hi all I will lead the C run to Worcester Country Park on Sunday coming. Have route on my Garmin so all should go well (that's what they said about the Titanic). Weather looks a little iffy at the moment we shall see. Looking forward to a good turnout. Finbarr

Evesham is the destination of choice and the route will be something like this.

Weather's looking damp with a chance of mudguards and sprinkling of winter kit. If the forecast deteriorates I may change the destination but will still ride.

C Run Worcester Country Park - bit wet at start but nice ride.
Dave Cox (stand in leader !)
Fenella Brown
We started out on a 30 mile loop but by the time we got to Crowle it was comparatively dry so we pressed on. Thanks for coming Fenella

3 headed of on in to the rain from the BH, we soon picked up Nic to make it a perfectly formed 4. The rain stopped about 10.30 and it turned out nice apart from the localised flooding!
Neil Lynch (leading the flotilla)
Andy Wrightson
Vince Tennant
Nic Shenton
Eliud Kipchoge
Phil met us at the cafe but sensibly decide to avoid going over the Lenchs and made his own way back.
Only thing of note to report is the 8 Hopwood ladies merrily cycling away in the rain. An example to us all!

Re: Club runs - 13th October
I am sorry I didn't make it yesterday. The rain was too much for me. Obviously there are some hard men and women around. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
