Volunteering opportunities Beacon Academy Racing 2020

Post by AdeR » 05 Mar 2020 18:11

Dear Beaconites,
The academy will be putting on three racing events this season open to members of other clubs or none - as well as our own track champs. There are plenty of opportunities to help out. I’ve been really grateful to all the terrific help I’ve received in previous years. I’d like to step up the publicity this season to attract more entrants, so it would be an immense help if we knew well in advance how many helpers we’ve got. You don’t have to sign up to the whole session – if you’ve only got half an hour that’s fine.
If you’ve availability, please could you leave a message here or e mail academy[at]beaconrcc.org.uk. if you could state date(s) available/time/job preference (if any) that would be amazing!
Friday 8th May 11:00 – 13:30
We’re putting on some grass track racing as part of the Rowheath Pavilion Community Fun Day. The races will be suitable for children age five to 12 and are open to non-members.
Jobs include:
• Helping to set out the course before the race
• Helping to set out the gazebo before the race
• Helping out with signing on before the race
• Helping out with bibs before the race
• Marshalling during the race
• Lap counting & ‘flag duties’ during the race

• Helping during the presentation.

Ade, I'll help at the track Championships. I might also be able to help at the grass track event in July, but I won't know for sure until much closer to the time. I can't help with any of the weekday events.

Our plans for the summer aren't settled yet but I've put 4th July and 1st August in diary in the hope that we are in Birmingham.
