Neil, I called in at Upton Marina a month or six weeks back and was amazed at how little they were doing to enable the maintenance of social distance. Of course, it's your call, but I just thought I'd mention it, in case that might concern you or others on the ride.

Hi George
Thank you for sharing your concerns which high lights something we all need to keep in forefront of our choice of cafe stops. - I too had called into the Marina cafe 4th Aug where I found on entry they had - Registration book & Hand sanitizers with further sanitizer bottles on the Bar & in the toilet plus they had COViD-19 info signage placed outside/inside the facility which on balance all is of a typical level to the average cafe/pub which we are currently frequenting. To further minimize any risk I had reserved an outside table for 6 on posting the Club run, also to maintain our moral high ground I will ensure verbally other rides joining me are clearly aware of your concerns & let them make a final decision.
George please don't hesitate to comment if you have any further concerns.

By the sound of it, Neil, you've been there more recently than me, and they have upped their game considerably since my visit. I thought maybe you had chosen the place on spec, but evidently you've checked it out and found it to be up to standard, so please disregard my earlier comments.
When I went there (one of the first Sundays after restrictions eased), food had to be ordered from the bar, which involved queuing close to people who were sitting eating, with people who had just done their ordering pushing past to get out again (no one-way system). I didn't see any evidence that they had changed their seating plan to create more space, and (as far as I recall; it was a a while ago) the woman serving me wasn't wearing a mask. All in all, I thought it was a poor show.
Have a great ride!
