LIMITED CLUB RUN RESUMPTION FROM SUNDAY 6TH DECEMBER

Post by WorcsPhil » 30 Nov 2020 12:12

Hi all,

after much reviewing of the Government advice, we have decided to re-commence club runs within this guidance from this Sunday (6th December). The Even-newer normal is defined below:

Two types of club runs are permissable, namely:

1. Non-stop Beacon Burst rides with a maximum of six riders
2. Longer club runs but only shop-stops for refreshments, again limited to six riders.

The current guidance for Tier 2 and Tier 3 is that the rule of six applies for outdoor exercise, but this excludes hospitality venues, hence the rules above. In addition, if you are on a longer club run with shop stops, please act sensibly, i.e. do not all go into the shop at once, or loiter around together outside. We are still expected to adhere to social distancing guidelines when riding, but particularly when stopped.

Although Worcestershire is in Tier 2, we are a Birmingham based club and most members live in Tier 3, hence these rules. Members who don't live in Birmingham, Dudley or other Tier 3 areas can always arrange takeaway rides privately amongst themselves, but this does not constitute a Beacon club run.

Er, that's it, sorry about the strictness of this advice...but if you want to lead an even-newer normal club run, subject to the two options listed above, please post in a separate thread, and mark as RIDE FULL when five riders join you.
