The draft tables are now done. Slightly funny order at moment so a bit of tidying up is necessary as if you were new to TT last year your name will be towards the bottom end of the tabs. I will update some notes as to the thinking behind the numbers and ask Steve Smith to post a link to the tables. After the link is up if your handicap looks odd please let me know -attached would benefit from a final review and happy to change now if it doesn't look right / seems out of sync with the people around you.

Results for the first four races are now calculated and attached (the first race has previously been posted). Chris Hudson has made an early challenge but plenty of other contenders. Nic Vipond and Tim Egan in particular had huge PB's on LMTT and if they take that form into other TT's competition will be close. Martin Mcgowan also posting some strong times and when his handicap moves away from base times (after 4 races) his best times wil not be restricted. Gary M also posted a big PB in yesterday's 25 to take top points.

Are there 4 or 5 counting events left in the handicap competition Simon? The 25 club championship which was cancelled is being run on an open event on Sat 10th August at same course & I assumed this would also count towards handicap competition.

Steve Morton moves ever closer with a perfect score. Chris Hudson needs to be in the top 6 to move his points forward so watch out on the next 25. Martin McGowan extends his lead with 37 points coming in. Gary Macintosh now starting to feature high up the table as he gets the rides in and Laurence getting closer with some potential big gains as early season results fall away. Rhys Richards can stil challenge with a few more good rides as can Brian Botfield, Steve Bull, and Richard KIngs. Kerri Harris moves into the top 10. It’s down to the last TT of the year and a two horse race between Martin McGowan and Gary Macintosh. Gary has a slim one point advantage over Martin and both have raced a full complement of races. This means that to increase their scores they must score more points than their lowest contributing points TT. For example Gary’s lowest score is 36 and to increase Gary must have a handicap position of 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th. Marin’s lowest score is 37 and therefore Martin’s target is 1st, 2nd or 3rd – ie losing the 37 points but gaining 40,39 or 38 points respectively. Turnout is always high for this traditional event and only Beacon riders who have ridden a TT this year are counted for the handicap calculation. Slight advantage to Gary but Martin posted a 40 pointer last week and a repeat would see him go at least equal top. The list of riders and their handicaps who, if they ride, count on Sunday is shown below so calculations can be done at Waseley over bacon sandwiches and coffee immediately afterwards. Confirmation will then follow as soon as I get back from cyclo cross racing! Good luck to everyone.
Restricted riders cannot have a better time than 3 minutes – this is due to their time being calculated on a base time due to not having previously ridden the hill climb and too few events this year to make a meaningful estimate.

That was really close. Gary just survived on the final day. Martin needed 2 seconds to grab one more point and finish equal with Gary or 5 more seconds for two more points and outright winner. That must be the closest handicap comp we have had for some time - did Phil just pip Neil on the hill climb some years back? Congrats to everyone involved particularly Gary and Martin and the pack snapping at their heels, and of course to Sean for winning the HC. Points for the HC handicap are below and further below are the results for the championship.
