Re: Looking for a 10% climb near Birmingham

I was intrigued by this post, since I've cycled in Drenthe a number of times, and can't recall ever seeing a gradient there more challenging than the gentle ramps you get where a minor road bridge crosses a river, motorway or railway. But yes, indeed, it turns out that VAM is a waste processing comp...

Big Café Rendezvous 2025 #1

The Big Café Rendezvous is back! Last year's quarterly gatherings, where all club runs converged on the same destination (taking different routes at different speeds) were well received, so we're doing them again this year. They'll be roughly the end of each calendar quarter. Number 3 will be linked...

I used to get cold hands and feet when I first started cycling. However, I discovered many years ago that the way to keep my hands and feet warm was not to focus on my hands and feet at all. I now think of my hands and feet as peripheral radiators on a central heating system. Hot peripheral radiator...

It's good to have a discussion on the topic of when to cancel club runs. I can only express a personal view, which is that I don't like dictats in general, and I don't like this proposed dictat in particular. And surely *all* club runs are "at own risk"?
