After three years, hours on the road in my campervan, climbing from the wild roads of northern Scotland to the steep lanes of Devon, cursing at hills and consuming heroic amounts of flapjack — it feels fitting to complete the final climb here in the Midlands, close to home, with friends from Beacon.
Join me for the grand finale: Jiggers Bank, number 38 in Simon Warren’s “100 Greatest Cycling Climbs”. Rising from the birthplace of the industrial revolution, Ironbridge Gorge, it may not be the toughest — but it’s a perfect way to finish.
Ride details:
• Date: Sunday 27th July
• Pace: B pace (15–16 mph average)
• Route: Out-and-back (same both ways to avoid the two main roads)
• Café stop: Truffles Café, Ironbridge – riverside location with great coffee, homemade cakes.
Whether you’ve done 99 of the 100 cycling climbs, or just fancy a good Sunday ride, sign up below.
Start time will be 9am from BH.
