Weekly Club Update and Club runs for the weekend of 20th of October

WEEKLY UPDATE:

Hi all, well the weather is particularly 'meh' at the moment, eh...and doesn't encourage ear-to-ear smiles when you think of riding your bike, but fear not, the clocks go back soon, so everything will appear brighter and more summery... in the morning at least! But that's when we ride, so use these last few weeks of Autumn to metaphorically lube your drivechain and get out, before your beloved best bike gets cleaned for the final time this year, and put away in the garage like a Black Bear, gorged with salmon retreating into a cave till Spring.

Too poetic? Maybe so, but just ride your bike as always, as Andy W says, it's always dry in between the raindrops, and who can argue with that. Alternatively, I see the Zwift and Rouvy rides are now increasing in usage, so perhaps it's time to get Beacon rides going on these?

Over twenty people out on club runs at the weekend, and thanks to the leaders as always! No one has led twice yet this season, so the race for the club run trophy remains open and on a knife edge...is it possible to build this tension up for the next 50 weeks?? :D

The date for the Dinner and Awards night is now set as Saturday 16th November at the Black Horse in Northfield so no one can claim they don't know where that is... This will be publicised shortly, but save the date and come along!

What happened at the cross on Sunday? Let me know, or post your summaries below, always good to hear about your muddy adventures...

Short one this week but have a good week, and let me know of your tall tales.

Phil

Well done to Freddie for completing 6 laps of the Cyclo-Cross league course at Fillongley on Sunday in a time of 12’49”. Once again, his last lap was his fastest! :) The Vet 50+s need to learn from his pacing strategy. Jason managed 5 laps in 47:42 I made sure I got my money's worth by spending 49:13 out on the course to do my 5 laps. WMCCL vet 50+s send best regards to Martin & look forward to seeing him o a start line again before too long.
Some things actually DO happen that are not on Strava
