WEEKLY UPDATE:
Why is it whenever you see a character on a TV drama or film riding a bicycle, you just know that they are going to get to get knocked off and killed/injured by a fast moving car at some point later on, it's becoming such a plot cliche (see Showtrial, One Day etc). It's lazy stereotyping and if it's not that, then they are portrayed as nerdy or treehugger-type characters....don't they know just what cool, hip even sexy lead men and women that we'd all be...just look around at the Black Horse on a Sunday morning!
...and if you want further proof, get your ticket for the Dinner and Awards night at the Black Horse on Saturday 16th November and see us in all our finery. It's only 12 days away, so don't delay, come and support your prize winners, yourselves and see Pete Warwick's epic trip through New Zealand in all it's glory!
The days are all the same at the moment, eh? Dull, grey, dry and 12c, which is enough for another full house of rides at the weekend, and 35 riders out having fun...thanks to the leaders as usual, namely, Stuart Jones, Si Walker, Liz L'Anson (leading for the first time, I think!) and Dave Cole (leading for the nth time in his Beacon career)...thanks all, it's much appreciated.
Anyway, get your Dinner tickets this week from the Beacon website, and watch out for all the December goings-on on next week's update!
Have a good week amongst the weather dullness, and hope for that golden star to appear through the clouds on your rides.
