WEEKLY UPDATE:
Storm Bert threw everything at us, but true to form, Si Woodward led a club run in spite of heavy rain and high winds...he's not the Beacon Club Person of the Year for nothing...you'll see him when it rains, but not in the sun! More madness though was that Dave Cox and Phil Gameson joined him...you'd have thought they would have all known better. Top riding, chaps, and I would give double points if I could.
...and almost gaining points were the Weekend Zwifters. Big thanks to Alan Weaver for organising a 3 hour indoor ride on Saturday and 2.5 hours on Sunday, all roped together like Alpine climbers...great stuff, Al.
So, two big events to remember...Sunday December 8th sees the Beacon Round of the WMCCL (Cross) event at Walsall Arboretum...We have a good number of volunteers already, but the current volunteers need to confirm their availability and more volunteers would be helpful... Please come along and help out, even if you haven't helped out before, in fact, especially if you haven't volunteered before...
The second event for your diary is the Beacon AGM on Thursday December 12th at 18:30 on Zoom. What could be more exciting than a committee meeting on a wet evening, where we'll be discussing whether to continue to use the Club Account RidewithGPS, whether we should change our kit colours to dayglo aubergine, and whether to insist all cycling helmets are to be replaced with MAGA caps (Only one of those is true!).
Looks decent weather this week, so perhaps we may get 58 riders outside and Si Woodward solo turbo-ing on Sunday...That'd be nice.
Keep happy
Phil
