Weekly Club Update and Club runs for the weekend of 15th of December

WEEKLY UPDATE:

Another weekend, another named storm, and this one you had to admit was a tad windy. Not only did it put paid to any club runs for the nth week on the trot, but is also caused us to cancel the Beacon cross event at Walsall Arboretum. This was a real pity given all the hard work people put into organising this, especially Adrian R of course, but the course was waterlogged even on Saturday morning before the day's rain arrived. It was the right call given that Sunday was also pretty wild and woolly and we would have had to catch some of the junior riders in a net on Sunday morning as they flew through the air like E.T., but it was a real shame. Huge thanks to Ade of course, but to all the other volunteers who were prepared to step forward...they receive half the volunteer points that they would have done if it had gone ahead.

To understand what I mean by that, come along to the AGM on Thursday evening. You don't even have to leave the comfort of your armchair...just prepare your favourite Thursday curry as always, pour yourself a cheeky Chardonnay and dial in...every person is welcome.

Oh, and of course we did have organised Zwift rides on Saturday and Sunday organised by Alan Weaver...they still don't get club run points as yet, but I could be persuaded to change that (for Beacon organised rides only) if there is sufficient groundswell of opinion...what are we if we are closed to new ideas?

So yes, it's the AGM on Thursday and it's also the Swan Christmas get-together this coming Sunday. The weather looks clement, so let's get a full set of club runs together, and perhaps route via Rowberrys at 11:15 for a pre-get together get together. Hope to see you there.
