Weekly Club Update and Club runs for the weekend of 12th of January

WEEKLY UPDATE:

Welcome back, and generic new year message to you all.

It's 2025, a quarter of the way through this century and are you happy with what you've done in the last 25 years? That's a rhetorical question, by the way...but things are looking good for an exciting year. At December's AGM, we agreed a lot of things to set up the year, so take a look at them on the message board, and happy to get your thoughts and comments. We've already had a few responses and happy to get more.

A couple of early pointers... First, if any Sunday has weather so bad that no outdoor riding is possible, we're giving club run points to the organised Beacon Zwift rides (not any old indoor ride you do), but suspect there will be less than half a dozen occurrences in a season where this applies, and secondly, the first Beacon Audax of the season is only 7 weeks away...yes, the Snowdrop and Sunrise Audaxes are open (Saturday 22nd Feb from Whitlenge) and I'll be calling for helpers later this month (don't forget, this will qualify you for volunteer points, and what do points make...?). Entries are flooding in since Christmas, but not many Beacon riders yet, so don't be a last minute Charlie, just check with your buddies which of the two events that they are riding and get your entries in.

Short one to ween you gently into the new year, but my interminable 3-hour discourses on Beacon life, politics and art will be back soon. :D

Keep riding (when it's safe!)

Phil

What's your view on e-bikes on the Snowdrop Phil?

E-bikes are welcome on 100kms audaxes, Dave...just not 200's!...but the current rules are that they are welcome to be ridden, but will not receive official validation (yet!)

See you there

Phil
