Social and Introductory ride, Sunday 19th, a D paced flat route of 38 miles

Due to the forecast temperatures overnight this is now a drop in and ride and not an official club ride.
I am leading a D Ride to Knowle with a stop at 22 miles at Elderberry Blacks Cafe. This is a fairly flat route so nice and easy going. 9.15am start from The Black Horse car park, Northfield.
This is a perfect introductory ride for those wishing to try out the club, riders returning from injury or illness, or if you just fancy a nice steady, relaxed and chatty ride out.
Pace will be to the slowest rider which is usually between 10 and 13mph. The group will stay together so you will be looked after throughout, no one is left behind.
Route is

Sign up, turn up and have some fun
10 riders
Paul Balfe
Dave Cox
Phil Gameson
Leigh Hopkins
Rob Parker
Mick Stanford (Lead)
Chris Thomson
Simon Whittaker
Plus 2, I can't remember names though

I enjoyed the ride and the company, the cold not so much... Now looking for more base layers.
I'm away for the next couple of weeks but I'll be back after then.

Great ride today Mick, well done
I have been to Oakes Farm Cafe and it's great for warm weather as seats outside but last time I went it was more lunch venue where you have to book
A bit like Berryfields up the road, upstairs for diners, downstairs for cyclists
If you want me to I can do a recce for you to the place on a weekday and also that cafe we saw today in Knowle

Hi Mick (and Paul) I checked out Wyndley Garden Centre in Knowle didn't appear in searches today. Went back through my diaries to find the name. I was last there with Coventry CTC in 2017. It's been knocked down and an elderly care home built on the land despite protests from customers !! I might have to check it out but not for club runs !! Agree about Berryfields makes a nice loop around Meriden.

Like the route to Oaks but not been there for a few years because Lavender Hall is near and so good. Interesting that as Paul describes it they've move up in the world for the carriage trade.
