Beacon Burst 9th Feb

Ok change of plan. Sunday 9th Feb I will lead a burst 60 miles and not too lumpy. A bit like last week's route but with an extra loop. No caf stop - straight round & back home. There's no cyclocross on the telly - so back to the normal start time of 9:10 from the Black Horse.

Hi Ade,
Looking at the forecast you may want your 'cross tyres! I can't make this weekend but may go looking for bergs on Saturday after walking the skinny hound.

Indeed - the forecast looks much better for Sunday a.m. Have changed plans. Have a good weekend & watch this space!

I was planning on joining you again, Ade, but I managed to fall off a couple of hundred metres from the end of a ride yesterday and having thought that I was just a bit bruised and telling several people "at least I didn't break my collarbone", I've been to the QE today and it turns out that I have broken my collarbone, so that's me out for a while...

Oh no that’s rough luck Laurence.
At least you’ll be back raring to go when the weather has improved.
I’ve a basic turbo not being used if you’d like it for when you can get back on a bike to keep your legs turning.

Oh NO!! That's terrible luck. How long did they say - 6 weeks?

Yeah, about that, depending on whether I end up needing an op. :?

Thanks, Carl. I do actually have a turbo that I might try to get reacquainted with when the time comes.

A chilly, damp, mucky ride and my longest UK outing for a while. Down to Bidford and over the Avon before turning back into a cold NE.
Ade & I separated just before Preston Bagot so I went ahead through Lowsonford, up Bushwood, back down to Danzey, up to Tanworth, Weatheroak and through the Icknield Ford.

Chuffed with a winter 101km total in Belgian conditions so hopefully good prep for Gent - Wevelgem.

You're going well Carl. Flanders - watch out!

Well I had 21 more gears than you so it made it easy by comparison!
