Weekly Club Update and Club runs for the weekend of 15th of February

WEEKLY UPDATE:

Fifty shades of grey...and all of them miserable. Yes, that's the interminable weather spell we're having at the moment, not some saucy film you can now find in the bargain bins of B&M.

...but despite this incessant greyness, we had over 20 people out on club runs at the weekend, so thanks as always to the leaders, namely Matt Hale, Chris Ankcorn, Mick Stanford and Ade Ravenscroft. Best wishes to Laurence Cooley who unfortunately broke his collar bone in the week, after hitting the deck some 200m from his house. Get well soon, Laurence!

It's now two weeks till the big cycling event of the Spring...no, not all cycling on TV going behind a paywall, it's the Sunrise and Snowdrop Audax on Saturday 22nd Feb. We have all the volunteers we need so this is your last call to get your entries in and ride...We only have 40 spaces left, and with a current field of over 260 people, it's one of the biggest, friendliest audaxes in the calendar. It has E-Brevets, paper brevets, hills, fast sections, familiar faces, and free food at the end, so you'd be mad to pass this opportunity by to get some early season miles in your legs, and with a forecast showing no ice or floods, grab the opportunity whilst you can. Have I sold it enough now?

So, don't despair, the warmer days are coming...it's just that Neil Orchard is hogging them at moment in southern Spain, and once we unfurl his white, clenched fingers from the twine holding the sun down there, it will drift towards us...

Have fun and see loads of Beaconites at the Sunrise/Snowdrop on the 22nd.

Phil
