Weekly Club Update and Club runs for the weekend of 2nd March

Post by WorcsPhil » 24 Feb 2025 15:59

WEEKLY UPDATE:

I'm happy to call Saturday's Sunrise and Snowdrop Audax a success. Fabulous weather meant that the drop out rate was much lower than normal and all the riders returned safely...although a group of 5 arrived back so late, the gates at Whitlenge were locked shut, so they retreated to a pub, left the bikes at the nearest riders' house, and caught an Uber home to Stourbridge before getting a friend to drive them back the following day to get access to the cars on Sunday morning...I love their flexibility and resilience...no panic, just accept the situation, go to the pub to drink a few then get them the next day. No hissy fits, no angry messages, just memories of a great day, which stretched into the next!

Although Saturday was mostly fine and dry, Sunday was a dog's dinner so no club runs went out. However, it's now March this weekend and the weather looks ok, so let's refresh club rides after a miserable few weeks. Let's get 3 or 4 leaders out this weekend, please. Don't leave it to the usual suspects, do your bit! Hope to see a few rides posted by Thursday...

Short one this week, but should be back to full fitness next week.

Enjoy the sunshine, ignore the rain.

Phil

Many thanks Phil and all your helpers. This was my 18th Snowdrop/Sunrise and having had to miss last year with health/fitness problems this one was extra enjoyable. A great day out with dialled in weather even a quick shower to cool off on the Lenches and remind us how lucky we were in the morning !!
