WEEKLY UPDATE:
It's the start of official Spring this week, and here's a reminder that there is a Beacon ride every Thursday leaving from Tardebigge at 10am. There is a Whatsapp group to arrange venues etc, so if you want to come along occasionally, then let us know and you can be added to the group The current speed is A or B pace, but be great if there was a C-ride pace also and going to the same cafe. Just looking for an organiser for that. The rides are around 80kms door to door, so not too long unless the weather is good when we go longer from time to time. Come along if you're ever free.
Four rides out again on Sunday with around 22 riders, which is good on chilly day...thanks as always to those that came out and to the leaders of course. Great to see two groups riding out at Cob House...perhaps we can get a Group Club Run to the same cafe going again soon...watch this space.
A couple of Academy events that you should all be aware of, and again all organised by Adrian Ravenscroft:
First, We are going to put on some kids' racing at the Ackers on Friday evenings after track league has finished. This is a call out for anybody who has junior cyclists who fancy a go at riding fast, as well as an early opportunity to get some volunteer points if you can help out and get yourself some free kit!
Secondly, on Sunday 13th April, we have a special intro session for our riders at Halesowen. Please put this in your diaries as it is a huge opportunity for our riders to learn how to ride on a special cycle venue. We will definitely run this for our academy riders, but we are also keen to extend the booking for an hour for Beacon adult riders to have a go at track riding...it'll be supervised and fun and a good time to try out something new on a bike. If you're keen, can you let us know in any way from digital to pigeon.
That's it...enjoy the warm sunshine this week!
