Big Café Rendezvous 2025 #1

Post by George » 24 Mar 2025 09:06

The Big Café Rendezvous is back!

Last year's quarterly gatherings, where all club runs converged on the same destination (taking different routes at different speeds) were well received, so we're doing them again this year. They'll be roughly the end of each calendar quarter. Number 3 will be linked to the Hill Climb and number 4 will be the pre-Christmas pub gathering. Number 2 will be roughly the end of June.

...and number 1 will be Sunday 6 April!! We're avoiding the final Sunday of Q1 because it's Mother's Day (and also because I'm not ready).

Details are still being worked out, and will be posted here in the next few days. For now, this is just a heads up, so that you can put it on your calendar and avoid making alternative arrangements.

Chairman Phil has mobilised the Party and secured us permission to visit White Lenge on 6 April.

Hopefully we can get A, B, C and D rides going there, each doing their own distance and route, all to arrive in the window approximately 10:45 to 11:15 (preferably at slightly staggered times to avoid excessive food queues). Full route details of the planned rides will follow after the weekend.

For now, here's what's on the cards:

A run led by TBC
B run led by Matt Hale. See https://www.beaconrcc.org.uk/message_bo ... =5&t=11401
C run led by George Barker, approx 75km at 22-23kph. Departs BH 09:15. See https://www.beaconrcc.org.uk/message_bo ... =5&t=11402
D run led by Dave Cole See https://www.beaconrcc.org.uk/message_bo ... 2aaecee5ea

We don't so far have a volunteer to lead the A run on Sunday, and all the regulars seem to be busy.

Anyone going to put their hand up?
