Weekly Club Update and Club runs for the weekend of 6th of April

WEEKLY UPDATE:

Bit late this week, but the bike won't ride itself!

A great spell of weather we're in at the moment, so riders have been riding without a care in the world. Some fabulous audaxing on Saturday with a sizeable Beacon contingent on the Cotswolds Goat 200k Audax from Warwick. With deference to those who did ride, top billing has to go again to Carina McGovern, who not only rode the 213kms full distance but rode there and back to turn it into a 300kms ride....great dedication again, Carina!

Equal top billing this week goes to Ed Moss, who started the TT season with a bang, with a cheeky mid-56'er at the Cheshire 25mile TT...Brilliant start, Ed and shows you over-wintered effectively and didn't just gorge on salmon and wild berries and then hibernate. Yes, the TT season is back, and our first Beacon TT is a week on Saturday on the 12th of April with the popular 20mile opener starting from Shell Ford...get yourself along, or please volunteer and marshal or time-keep to ensure the event runs smoothly and you start racking up some volunteer points to be the second person to get free kit as part of our volunteer incentive scheme. Take a look at Simon Woodward's post for further info.

Oh and club runs went off as well of course, with so many A-riders riding the audax on Saturday, there was no A-ride on Sunday, but Ade Ravenscroft Beacon Burst did go ahead, as did club rides led by Si Walker and Dave Cole. Thanks to all, and don't forget, it's the BIG CLUB RUN RENDEZVOUS at Whitlenge this coming Sunday, where all club runs go to the same cafe for general socialising and perhaps join one group out and another back...this is actively encouraged and is one of the main benefits of organising these...go on test yourself on a faster ride than you're used to!.

That's it, but see lots of you on Sunday, and yes it's predicted to be a sun day on sun day, so get yourself on the rides!

Phil
