Posted: 14 May 2025 18:50
Please do come along and join the hundreds of cyclists paying their respects at the cyclists memorial service.
I will lead a combined D and C Run to Meriden for the cyclists memorial service this coming Sunday. The service starts at 11am so meet at the Black Horse for an 8.15 am start.
Depending on pace and group size, riders can split into groups to be sorted at the Black Horse. A and B riders also more than welcome to join us.
You can grab a coffee and snack from the shop prior to the service, there is also cake and butties and tea/coffee available at the recreation ground after the service, cash only.
David Cole will be placing a wreath at the memorial in memory of cyclists who fought and died for their country.
The memorial was built in 1920 to commemorate cyclists who died in the first World war. In 1963 a plaque was added to commemorate cyclists who died in the second World War. In 2013 a second plaque was added commemorating all soldier who fought and died for their country.
