Weston Super Mare - 21st June 2025
Just putting the thought out there to see if there is any interest in a repeat weekend ride to Weston Super Mare on the weekend of 21st June 2025.
Exact same format as this year, conventional route to Weston avoiding as much of the A38 as possible and now including the new pier to pier section. Stopping in the Grosvenor Hotel on the sea front, four x two bedded rooms booked in advance then return the next day.

If we do the P2P section then it would mean quite a double back in order to do the Strawberry Line as well afraid, so its one or the other. As we haven't done the P2P section yet, it gets my vote

I'm potentially interested, Al, but can't commit until spring probably.

Great stuff, based on this l'll go ahead and book the Grosvenor Hotel on the same basis as last year.

The Royal Grovesnor Hotel has been booked today, four twin bedded rooms. The cost will be £60 pp that also includes a full English breakfast and secure parking for the bikes.

UPDATE
Cutting a long saga very short, but the Royal Grosvenor Hotel is longer an option for us to stay in. I'll have a look around next week and see if I can find another suitable hotel, but it may not be on the sea front....lol
Watch this space!!
If I could find the thread on the Beacon FB page I will update that, but at the moment I cannot seem to locate it?

Re: Weston Super Mare - 21st June 2025
Folks, really sorry and despite my best efforts, l cannot find a suitable hotel to accommodate 8 riders for one nights stay on Saturday 21st June.
Therefore, plan B is source other accommodation elsewhere, but you will need to source that for yourself, sorry.
Please update on either here or the club message board where you will be staying.
The Travelodge on the outskirts of town would be my possible suggestion, ideally with two people sharing. But rooms do get booked up very quickly!

Re: Weston Super Mare - 21st June 2025
Quick update - by far the cheapest option is booking a family room for three people (three separate beds!) at the Travelodge on the outskirts of town.
It works out at just £45.09 per person, excluding breakfast. Unlimited breakfast is £9.99
Alternatively, a twin room (separate beds) works out at a £61.49 per person, excluding breakfast.
But l guess the bad news, you need to commit now, book and pay now in order to secure your room.
If anyone is interested, please DM me and l'll add your name to the WhatsApp group and we can then organise who can stop with who.
Myself, Dave Cole and Paul Balfe have already booked a family room.
