What a great course! Real mix of conditions with hummocky grass, straight fire roads and gloopy potholes in the woods.

Both me and Gareth had a stinker of a race. Greg is making me and Gareth look better than we were (thanks though Greg!). If you count the 45+ (so the whole 40-49 vets) I came 22. Gareth came 14th if you count the whole seniors up to 39. We both did a lot better in Shrewsbury race (Gareth 7th, me 13th).
I hit a tree and had a few problems in the muddy forest bit slipping on roots. This cost me a lot of time. I also went way too hard on the first lap and blew-there was over minute difference between 1st and last lap.
Gareth had a few mechanicals and also crashed into a bush. I'm putting this down as a bad 'un and moving on. As they say-that's cross racing.

As I said, great course! I suppose it's one of the more technical and the mix of conditions clearly made for interesting racing. Hope the shrubbery is ok. ;)

Eventually got round to updating the final results. At Doug's request above, I've made the age group results look worse. ;)

(In truth, the results are now showing the overall places within the broader 40+ & 50+ age ranges).
