The auspicious 50th anniversary TRACK CHAMPIONSHIPS will be held on SATURDAY 14TH JULY AT 1400-1800 at Halesowen Athletic&Cycling club.

ALL BEACON AND 2ND CLAIM MEMBERS CAN ENTER, SPECTATORS AND FAMILY WELCOME.

CASH PRIZES, AND TROPHIES TO BE WON

LETS MAKE THIS A BIG EVENT TO CELEBRATE ITS 50TH RUNNING, SHOW OFF YOUR TRACK RIDING SKILLS PRE-OLYMPICS [/b]

As you may know the 50th Anniversary Track Champs is on 14th July. To add to the occasion it would be great to see as many as possible turn out to support the event. Bring the family and a picnic (dogs and grandmas too!) and there will be an opportunity between events for children and grown ups to bring their bikes and ride them on the track - a must if you've not done it before. And there will be prizes for any children who ride. Details for the Halesowen track can be found here:

THE TRACK CHAMPS ARE JUST DAYS AWAY, LETS MAKE IT AN AUSPICIOUS OCCASION WITH GOOD SUPPORT.

DURING THE AFTERNOON A SLOT HAS BEEN ARRANGED FOR SUPPORTERS, YOUNG CHILDREN WITH BIKES, AND ROAD BIKE RIDERS TO RIDE THE TRACK, AND IF THERE ARE SUFFICIENT NUMBERS A PURSUIT RACE WILL BE ARRANGED.

IT IS HOPED A PRESENTATION TO ROGER SHAYES (WHO HAS COMMISSAIR'D FOR SO MANY YEARS AND STILL HOLDS THE SPRINT RECORD SINCE 1963!!) WILL TAKE PLACE.
RACING TIME IS 1400 TILL 1800, BUT YOU ARE WELCOME TO START TURNING UP BY 1300

CAN I PLEASE MAKE A PLEA FOR 2 TIMEKEEPERS AND A LAPCOUNTER/BELL RINGER TO STEP FORWARD TO HELP.

CAN I PLEASE REQUEST THAT THE TROPHY HOLDERS (Steve and Colin) BRING THE CUP AND SHIELD TO THIS EVENT AS I WANT THEM TO BE PRESENTED ON THE DAY

CASH PRIZES ARE AGAIN BEING GIVEN IN THE SPRINT COMPETITION

TRACK BIKE COMPETITORS PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN BIKES, I WILL BRING 2 WHICH CAN BE RIDDEN AS SPARES (56cm frames) ANY OTHER POTENTIAL RIDERS BRING YOUR CLEATED PEDALS AND SHOES. ONE OF MY BIKES HAS OPEN TOECLIP PEDALS, BUT TOOLS ARE ON HAND TO PUT NEW ON.

HALESOWEN BIKES CAN BE HIRED BUT NOT RIDDEN IN THE COMPETITIONS

PAUL AND DEBS DEANE ARE PROMOTING THIS AS A SOCIAL EVENT SO WEATHER PERMITTING THIS IS A WAY OF MEMBERS TO MEET CHAT CHEER AND ENJOY A PICNIC

Is there going to be a pursuit competition for road bikes?
I'm sure that if well publicised this would encourage a lot of non-track bike owners to participate
