Provisional results from Solihull, where I didn't stay in bed! Instead, a first for me was a day as on of the Assistant Commissaires. The conditions were pretty tough with loads of mud, so I had quite an easy day - recovering from injury, you understand. :D

Great rides by Greg and John. Funny I was only talking to Steve about the best place to wear your transponder just before the race. :?

Quite possibly the most strength sapping course I've ever ridden. There was possibly about one 50 metres section where the bike would actually roll. Last year the same course was bone dry and super fast. Good old global warming.

There were some funny moments though not least a fella doing a bike change and misjudging his remount with such painful consequences that he had to crawl out of he pit lane on all fours 😳. A medic was called for but I wasn't sure what he was going to do. An Allen key was offered....in case he wished to tighten his nuts!
