Two Counties RR result

I raced in the Two Counties road race on Sunday 7th April.

After a failed attempt of a break on lap two of the 50 mile course, I attacked again at the start of lap three and escaped with two others (Joe Atkins and Phil Hinch) who were both willing to share the work load to build up a maximum gap of 55 seconds on the chasing pack. Joe then rode Phil and myself off his wheel on the final climb to take the victory with me just behind him about 8 seconds later, followed by Phil a further 5 seconds back.

Im very happy with taking second, I got 12 points on my license and £45 prize money. Only 13 points needed for my 2nd cat license now!

Great stuff! £110 and counting - you'll earn yourself a new bike by season end at this rate!

Excellent. I hear that many race participants are finding it really tough to start racing after the protracted winter - it must have been a tough start to the season.

It's clearly only a matter of time before you move up a category (or two), Richard.
