Might have a go at this on the mtb this year.

Any idea which level of licence I need to purchase?

The minimum to enter the league is a Bronze BC membership which acts as a Provisional Licence as well. A full racing licence isn't required for regional events.

Start time and duration depend on rider age. Durations for Senior Men, which I guess will be your category, is 50 mins and races start at 14.15. You'd need to be there a bit before that to sign on and warm up.

The current options open to me for CX are:

1) a 15year old Claud Butler Rock, which is heavier than Ayers Rock and the gears are knackered or
2) or a road bike

so would need something else I think. Although think a winter/training road bike is possibly a higher priority purchase for the next 12months

Great tyre name BTW!
