As I am now into tranvestism, please don't mind me turning up in high heels whilst wearing an ill-fitting short skirt.

Phil -- sounds like a fragment of truth in that... getting a little excited at the thought of being caught??
Would love to marshal but plan on doing a blipping race if something else doesn't go wrong
Happy to help with the clearup operation though.

Just curious really, but is this event sponsored by Waldrons the haulage Co, their place is on the old A38 by Lidiate Ash. I used to race against Graham Waldron in 100c Kart Racing back in the seventies

The sponsors are Waldrons the solicitors...no idea whether there's a connection.

Well that was 'interesting' as we watched some fairly hair brain lunatics riding at full pelt around others at a more sedate pace in a tricky location. The environment was certainly 'interesting' too, with plenty of overhanging branches and tree routes posing obstacles to the riders. One poor fellow crashed into a holly bush, a rather prickly way of falling but at least he had a cushioned fall. CX has got to be cycling's equivalent of the contact sport 'shinty' - worth watching but suicidal to enter. I take my hat off to Darren and Paul Garey who rode and clearly braver than I.
Were there enough helpers on the day? I should say so. The chap from Redditch successfully allocated 7 marshals to my allocated marshaling station. Thinking that was somewhat silly and a chronic case of over-staffing on a piece of ground that measured 1 metre cubed, I moved down hill to join Greg, Laurence, Mark and a Redditch guy where we spent a productive time talking stuff. Enjoyable company and an event that was 'interesting' to view with a fun atmosphere. I can see why people ride CX but don't expect my entry form too soon.

Thanks to you all for donating and then purchasing cake(s) . The stall raised £236.15. The burger van man also gave a donation to CX fund.
Thanks again
Sonia
