Went up to Etwall to race one of the South Pennine RC evening races. Good conditions quite warm, little wind and what wind there was was behind on the way home. Slightly nervous about getting lost and still no idea where the finishing line was as no chequered board and times must have been taken from inside the car. Only stopped pedalling once I had almost got back to the start point and was dying - looked down to see I had almost done 11 miles! Luckily timekeepers knew when I crossed the line.

Anyhow after all that came in at 21-33 which beats previous VET record by 19 seconds.

Very keen to do well as prob my last 10 this year. End of season was in danger of going damp with a couple of cancelled events and an Open event where the entry got caught in the ether. Thought I had form but worried might not get the opportunity to find out so felt very good afterwards!
