The weekend Jessica Rhodes-Jones, second claim member Ollie Hayward, ex-Beacon member Richard Bussell and myself all competed at the national hill climb.

This year the course was Bank Road in the centre of Matlock.

Richard came 7th and was sadly unable to defend his title. Jess finished a very respectable 25th. Ollie came 60th and I finished equal 101st.

Thanks go out to Robin, Laurence and Matt Clegg who came to watch. It's a great event and having support on the road side helps push you on to dig even deeper.

Great results for Jes and John. Having the bottle to even start the National Hill Climb deserves a club prize imo.😊
I watched the video of Jes and pedalling that smoothly, with that form up a near 20% slope is a lesson to us all
