I know we didn't use this course last year, but a big set of traffic lights have now been installed at the bottom of the slip road up to the DC on this course rendering it unusable

Must remember to drop a laptop in to the car. That'll make it easier.

Next up on Saturday 13th April is my favourite TT course of the year - K32/20 :) If I could only ride one course, this would be it. If you haven't previously ridden the course you're advised to acquaint yourself with the route as, although it's relatively simple, many have a missed a turning at some...

Re: proposed Beacon Club TT event dates 2019
Thanks all. It's something that is fixable (even if that's just time) but it's unfortunate that I've a hiatus in timetrialling (too energetic) and my signalling on the SVR (medication is of the 'do not operate heavy machinery' variety).

Unfortunately, I (now) have sciatica which will preclude me from marshalling (I can't stand up for that long). However, I'm probably up for Andy Terry's helper (?) 3) Results Helper (Andy Terry will handle the results but he needs a time keeper at the top of the climb...this person needs to be tech ...

Due to (another) medical issue, I'm not going to be doing any timetrialling for the foreseeable future. However, that does make me available for more timekeeping, which I'm more than happy to do as it will keep me in with things. IIRC you've got my number so just let me know...

Re: How do you find the time?!?
Most of my week-end rides are just an hour to 90 minutes long for precisely the reasons you cite. I try to get up reasonably early, get out quickly & then I'm back before I'm needed as the taxi service etc. I also commute to work & will rarely take the direct route (time &/or weather permitting).

K33/50R Sun 18 July
Three of us ventured out for Redditch R&P club TT on K33/50R on Sunday morning. The start was delayed slightly due to there being an open 25 on the same course! Fortunately, that wasn't a full field & the last rider was off just after 9:00. I trailed in last with a 02:33:16 after going the wrong way...

Came down Cecil Road this morning. Take your pick. I suspect none are deep enough to trouble somebody in a car so are not considered to be an issue by BCC.

Thanks all. The marshalls were very much appreciated indicating the start of the dodgyest spots. I wouldn't have been surprised if somebody had come off. The road surface was truly horrid in several places. I particularly noticed the A422 is now very rough which will affect 25 times in a few weeks. ...

Do you need to have done the course before to get a handicap? If you've not ridden the course before you'll get a base line handicap. However, there's an additional proviso that your final (after handicap) time can't be below the base. So for this course, ladies get a base handicap of 12 mins 30 se...

There's an exception to the liability insurance whereby one BC member can't claim against another in a race, though.
