Hello everybody, I'm a new member of Beacon and I want to join to this event ( it will be the first TT :) ), it's enough to be there tomorow or I need to make a subscription somehow?
Thank you,
Johnny.

All you need to do is turn up 15-20 minutes before the start (more if you want to have a practice lap of the course first) and pay £3 to enter. Looks like it's going to be a nice evening, so perfect timing for your first time trial.

Thank you for your answer Laurence.
One more question, I have to come by car :( , where I can let it in the area? Looking on map it's not much room for parking a car.
Thanks again.

Most people park on Umberslade Road: http://goo.gl/maps/jmqmg. If you keep going until you cross the course at Tithe Barn Road, you can pull in on the left, here: http://goo.gl/maps/eo11m.

Cheers, Bob. Alistair, you're not pedalling hard enough if you're enjoying it. :) I thought it was horrible, but I was pleased to improve my PB by 40 seconds - justified my bike fit the other week.

Well done all, especially Martin - he'll be winning some of these soon! Maybe one of the hilly ones in August?

Cheers for that

Gutted I cant make this week as its the last one on the course. Wish they would allow my time recorded on my garmin. Im going to do the course Wednesday daytime as got to look after younger brother on the night.

Hopefully wont miss many more this year, going to try and get to the 20 mile course and do a reccy before the actual race there.

Handicap explanations

Andy,
By coincidence just updating the hasndicap rules so the full details can be understood. In overview the system works as follows;

Each course is given a base time. For the K36 4.5*2 this is 20 minutes. If a rider has ridden the course before, their handicap (aka adjustment) will be the difference between their PB and 20 minutes. For example in your case your handicap on this course is now 4-38 based on your ride on 5 June of 24-38. If for example next time you ride on the course you record a 24-00 time your handicap time will be 19-22, and your handicap for the ride after that will reduce to 4-00.

When riding the course for the first time the rider will either be given a handicap based on estimation from rides on similar courses if they have taken part in a few time trials or given a standard handicap. These standard handicap times are shown on the link Laurence kindly posted under base times. When using a standard handicap the adjusted time is restricted to a minimum ofthe base time for the course - this is so a new strong rider cannot unduly benefit from a handicap before their capabilities are better known to try and keep balance across the scores.

Overall the system is designed to reward the most improving riders although there is some subjectivity if a rider has not previously ridden a particular course.

Hope that helps but please let me know if you have any questions.

Best, Simon
